Hiding

I built myself a fortress
And looked myself inside
Wanted to be by myself
And leave the world behind.

I put up barriers
Fences, doors and walls
I knew people were there
I just couldn't hear the calls.

I sat bymyself
Pushed people away
Got more isolated
Day by day.

Now I need their help
I feel so alone
I hate the emptiness
I so strongly sought.

How do I open up
Let people show they care
After spending so long
Wishing they weren't there?
