Here's something I'm stuck with.. its long and i hope you can understand it
I've worked with my boss for over five years now - he's only been my boss for roughly one of those years - but him and I are friends and have a lot of respect for one another. We're the same age, and so is the other person I am about to talk about. I'm finishing college in less than two months, and he's still not sure what he wants to do in life, but he knows he doesn't want to be tethered down if its not necessary.
Enter one of his former high school classmates who I met online through POF. I never really wanted to be friends with her, but she got pushy in a sense and kept trying and trying to do things. She never admitted it, but I know she used to like me, and tried everything to get me to forget about the one i like in exchange for her. NOW she likes my boss. They used to go to high school together and because of that they do recognize eachother in passing. She shops in my store and lives across the street from where me and my friends go for wings every Monday for dinner.
Now here's the problem - now that I've broken the ice between them she wants to move waaaay too quickly. She wonders why he hasn't invited her along to Niagara Falls when he went with his family on a day when she was bored, and why they haven't found time to hang out yet despite his busy schedule. She doesn't understand that he doesn't want a relationship right now because he's not sure where he's going in life because she thinks being with someone is more important than trying to figure out your own way alone first. And I'M the one getting the phone calls and endless messages talking about how frustrating that answer is for her and how she needs tons and tons of coaching. Its a simple answer - be patient and let him be, but she won't get past how she thinks its still possible to have a relationship while figuring out your life, and how absolutely terrible it is to not be dating someone.
I'd love to have her get off my case, but I cannot block her because, again, she shops at my store and lives across from Morty's. I won't give my boss's phone number out for obvious reasons, and I'm afraid I may have stuck him in a situation I don't want him in.
I don't know how he feels, but I feel kinda bad for dragging him into this. I thought telling him for her that she likes him would solve the problem, but nope! I've even used the store PA system to embarrass her into not coming to me for problems anymore as I would only page him to the floor as soon as i saw her. Any ideas on what I could do to get her off my back and not unload anything onto my boss or making me look bad at the same time? _________________ When you run out of corners to put your junk, make more corners!
To be honest hun
The best would to sit her down and tell it to her straight, if you dont feel like you can do that, maybe write her a letter trlling her that you dont want anymore contact from her till you are ready to contact her,
I think it is going to be simply the phrase 'be cruel to be kind'
